The One Resort Zanzibar - Makunduchi

A week of pure relaxation

Waking up to amazing ocean views was the highlight of my mornings. The staff were excellent, we were comfortable and well-fed each day. This resort offers a tranquil getaway with pristine facilities.

While the isolation provided a peaceful retreat, it did mean limited dining options outside the resort. Occasionally, the food hygiene could also be improved, especially in buffet areas.

The location was unbeatable right on the beach.

So glad we chose it, spent 5 beautiful days here. The staff were all affable and polite. The hotel has peaceful and absolutely perfect location close enough to The Rock restaurant and the whole island: D

Everything was perfect from the staff, who were super friendly, to the fine ocean views from our room. The pool area was so nice and not crowded, and we enjoyed the yummy food every night. The activities were really cool and kept us entertained. Loved how cozy and home-like it felt, especially with how dedicated the staff were.

The location was unbeatable in the middle of the city.

The location is amazing and perfect for exploring Makunduchi. And it's at a walking distance from downtown.

the hotel is fairly clean, has reasonable prices, its location is amazing and absolutely perfect just off taxi and the beach and the whole island. the venue serves large breakfasts with several options to choose from.

The Beautiful Double or Twin Room with Ocean View is a treat, offering fine visuals right from your bed. The atmosphere is surprisingly calm, perfect for those looking to do nothing but soak in the sun with poolside drinks at hand.

The resort is quite isolated, meaning you'll need to arrange transportation to access nearby areas like Paje or Michamvi, which can be a hassle. The food hygiene left a lot to be desired, with buffet stations that had unwelcome insects, and the overall buffet experience was average at best. Amenities like the coffee at breakfast could use an upgrade. Some drinks, like iced coffee, were good, but the buffet coffee was a letdown. The mattress in the Junior Suite was too firm for my liking, which may not suit everyone. The lack of nearby infrastructure and entertainment might feel stifling if you're looking for adventure outside the resort's walls.

The hotel was modern and the staff affable, absolutely perfect location right on the beach. There were a safe, multi-channel television and a refrigerator in my a double room, loved it.

Our room had a tv, a beautiful balcony with a sea view, and a comfy bed with a non-feather pillow. The spa offered great services like a full body massage and beauty treatments. The buffet featured fresh pancakes and live cooking, with lovely cocktails by the pool. The beach was clean with crystal clear water.

The room was lovely with a amazing view of the ocean every morning, and I loved that housekeeping took such great care of it, even spraying for mosquitoes. The spa was fantastic for unwinding, and the pool by the beach was the perfect spot to relax all day. The mattress was a bit firmer than I prefer, but it didn't take away from my overall chill experience. 🌴
